Texas Gives Obama’s Administration an F in Handling of Economy

37% of Texans Give an “F” for Handling of Economy

Texas GOP supporters and the US both disapprove of Obama\'s handling of the economy.

Texas, one of the most conservative states in the union has given the Obama administration an “F” for their handling of the American economy according to a recent CNN poll of the 2nd 100 days. Not too surprising considering Texas has always been considered a GOP state.

Nationally 36% Give Obama Admin an “F”

what is surprising is not that the US as a whole is right behind Texans in their view of the economy but rather that the folks from the great state of TX gave the new administration an “A” 8%, while nationally they got only 7%! I guess it just goes to show that if you’re going to be on the opposite side of the Texas conservative viewpoint you had better support your guy no matter how bad they are doing.

Regardless if you live in Midland, Texas, the hometown of two very notable republicans, George W. and Laura Bush or if you live anywhere else in the US, Obama and his team of economic pros get a “D” or an “F” a whopping 52% of the time. Now compare that with the first 100 days when the new admin was given an “D/F” only 16% of the time. Sure hope you can turn things around fast guys, ‘cuz there are getting to be fewer and fewer fans of the way y’all handle the economy!

Wild Pigs and the GOP

I got this in my email today and found it very interesting. Not sure if it’s true or not, but it still is very relevant today, regardless if it’s an urban myth, or real.

Catching Wild Pigs

A chemistry professor in a large college had some exchange students in the class. One day while the class was in the lab the Professor noticed one young man (exchange student) who kept rubbing his back, and stretching as if his back hurt.

The professor asked the young man what was the matter. The student told him he had a bullet lodged in his back.
He had been shot while fighting communists in his native country who were trying to overthrow his country’s government and install a new communist government.

In the midst of his story he looked at the professor and asked a strange question. He asked, ‘Do you know how to catch wild pigs?’ The professor thought it was a joke and asked for the punch line. The young man said this was no joke. ‘You catch wild pigs by finding a suitable place in the woods and putting corn on the ground. The pigs find it and begin to come everyday to eat the free corn.

When they are used to coming every day, you put a fence down one side of the place where they are used to coming. When they get used to the fence, they begin to eat the corn again and you put up another side of the fence. They get used to that and start to eat again. You continue until you have all four sides of the fence up with a gate in The last side.

The pigs, who are used to the free corn, start to come through the gate to eat, you slam the gate on them and catch the whole herd. Suddenly the wild pigs have lost their freedom. They run around and around inside the fence, but they are caught. Soon they go back to eating the free corn. They are so used to it that they have forgotten how to forage in the woods for themselves, so they accept their captivity.

The young man then told the professor that is exactly what he sees happening to America. The government keeps pushing us toward socialism and keeps spreading the free corn out in the form of programs such as supplemental income, tax credit for unearned income, tobacco subsidies, dairy subsidies, payments not to plant crops (CRP), welfare, medicine, drugs, etc.. While we continually lose our freedoms — just a little at a time.

One should always remember: There is no such thing as a free lunch! Also, a politician will never provide a service for you cheaper than you can do it yourself. Also, if you see that all of this wonderful government ‘help’ is a problem confronting the future of democracy in America, you might want to have your friends read this. Keep your eyes on the newly elected politicians who are about to slam the gate on America.

“A government big enough to give you everything you want, is big enough to take away everything you have”
Thomas Jefferson

Note: I would venture to guess that if Thomas Jefferson were alive today he would be a conservative and a proud supporter of the GOP. He understood the importance of the federal government playing a limited role and letting each state form their own local government. Yep, I’m pretty sure that Jefferson would have been a republican politician.

GOP T-Shirt - Obama vs Reagan

Reagan T-Shirt

If Obama were President in 1989, would the Berlin Wall have fallen?

If Reagan were President in 2009, would the tyrants of the world fall?

Ronald Reagan was not afraid to stand up to tyrants or “evil empires” during his presidency. His passionate speeches ignited a spark of liberty and freed suppressed peoples around the world. At a time when evil is once again gaining a foothold in the world, we need a leader who will once again stand up for what is right. In honor of one of America’s greatest presidents, Ronald Reagan, The Patriot Depot has created this hard-hitting T-shirt. It demonstrates the vast difference in character between Reagan and Obama. Our hope is that it will provoke fellow citizens to think and encourage politicians to take a stand for freedom and righteousness.

Note: I thought this t-shirt was thought provoking, yet still in good taste. It really does make you wonder how things would be different today if we had a Strong GOP voice like that of former republican President Ronald Reagan.

Government vs. Market Oriented Heath Care

Getting Untangled - Freedom Politics

This is curious, in that most European countries, deemed the model by most Obama-oriented reformers, are moving toward more market-oriented policies just as the U.S. is moving toward the model they are finding too expensive and inefficient. Richard Saltman and Josep Figueras of the World Health Organization say, “The presumption of public primacy is being reassessed.” Pat Cox, former president of the European Parliament, said in a report to the European Commission, “We should start to explore the power of the market as a way of achieving much better value for the money.”

Alan Bock the Senior Editorial Writer for The Orange County Register goes on to say;

Economic theory and practice suggest that improving access to health care and moderating the costs can best be achieved not through centralized control but through competition. But how do we get there from here? It depends on how far you want to go.

Note: Talk to nearly anyone from a foreign country and they are quick to criticize their health care system and wish they could have access to the our US health care system. The GOP opposes this not because it is the opposing parties policy but because republicans have always been for competitive market-oriented policies and not big government “we-will-make-your-choices-for-you” policies.

Are Republicans Evil?

Republicans are evil (OneNewsNow.com)

I have long thought that one of the striking differences between liberals and conservatives is this: liberals believe conservatives are evil, while conservatives believe liberals are wrong. Stein recounts something his friend Marlene told him, which makes the point. “[S]omeone I’ve known for 27 or 28 years actually said to me, ‘Marlene, I know you’ve worked with the mentally ill, so I know you care about people. But how can you be a good person and a conservative?’”

I don’t know about you, but as a conservative, I have actually felt this hatred. I can honestly say that I have never for even one minute thought democrats were “evil”, but I can attest to the fact that they think this way. It really is quite sad, since (with some exception in both parties) most peope, dems or GOP loyalists all want what they feel in their mind is the very best for America.

The article goes on to give several examples like this one:

He describes another encounter with a liberal, a guy he knew slightly, this time in the supermarket. Stein nodded to acknowledge him, when suddenly, “he spat out: ‘You people disgust me!’” All this guy actually knew about Stein was that he’d written a conservative book. “‘You’re disgusting,” he sputtered, swiping up his shopping bag and stomping away. ‘You sicken me!’”

It really is quite sad when people become so opinionated they resort to personal attacks.Whether it’s the GOP or the Dems, both have there problems but neither are evil.

The Move Toward Socialism

The Political Cartoon of the Decade

AMAC is fighting to stop the destruction of the World’s best health system!

* Keep government out of your doctor’s office
* Don’t let a government commission decide who gets surgery
* Help AMAC take back YOUR capital

Join AMAC Today - Call 888-262-2006

Note: I got this political cartoon in my email today and thought it was very funny…and scary. :/ The way things are going more and more people are becoming increasingly concerned that we are in fact headed towards socialism.

The Association of Mature American Citizens (AMAC) claims to be the conservative alternative to AARP. I’ll be honest, I’m a little ticked off that they think I am old enough to get their emails though!

GOP Politicians Propose an Alternate Plan to Obamacare

Sleepless in Midland: Sen. Coburn’s “Patient Choice Act of 2009″ — a alternate health care plan

“Patient Choice Act of 2009,” a plan introduced last May by four Republicans — Senators Tom Coburn, M.D. (R-OK) and Richard Burr (R-NC) and Representatives Paul Ryan (R-WI) and Devin Nunes (R-CA.

The key component of the plan would be state insurance exchanges which would allow consumers to shop for and compare insurance plans. And the key word is “optional.” Participation by states would be optional. Participation by insurance companies would be optional, and participation by customers would be optional.

Note: I think most would agree it’s nice to have options whenever possible rather than being forced to take whatever the government throws our way. This health care plan gives individual states the option to participate as well as the insurer and the insured.

Obama Hits Record Low in Approval: Zogby Poll

Zogby Poll: Obama Approval Hits Record Low

A new Zogby poll to be released Friday reveals that President Obama’s approval rating has hit a record low, with 45 percent of Americans giving him a positive job rating. Apparently soured on his costly economic schemes and a multi-trillion dollar plan that would nationalize healthcare, Americans are rejecting the new president. This sea change in public opinion comes as Democrats plan to push healthcare through Congress without any GOP support.

Just 37.5 percent of self-identified independents say they approve of how Obama is handling the presidency. That compares with 59.2 percent of independents who disapprove.

It’s amazing how quickly a politician can rise and fall in these polls. From 60% at the 100 day mark, to 51% in July and now down to 45% in August. Hmm, if you want the GOP support, now might be a good time to re-think your healthcare bill Mr. President.
